Opticis Co., Ltd., the premier developer and manufacturer of optical extension systems, introduces the M1-3R2VI-DU, a feature enriched version of the original M1-2U2VI-DU. This exciting technology allows high resolution WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels) video products to display flawlessly over long distances with all the benefits of glass optical fiber replacing the video copper wires.
The M1-3R2VI-DU consisting of a Transmitter (Tx) and Receiver (Rx), provides the same uncompressed dual-link DVI video operation as its predecessor. The multi-mode fiber count is reduced to four LC-terminated glass optical fibers (GOF) that will operate up to up to 100m (330ft) with a CAT5 link managing the Hot Plug Detect, EDID parameters, power and ground requirements. In addition, without changing the optical transceivers, the product will operate up to 2 km (6,600 ft) with single-mode GOF using Opticis’ renowned virtual DDC programming feature to replace the CAT5 link with programmable EDID parameters in the transmitter.
The immediate rewards of GOF are data security, long distance up to 2km without video degradation, easy installation, no RFI/EMI effects and a green benefit of heavy copper replacement with light-weight glass fiber. Plug ‘n go operation with high resolution WQXGA display products on both PC and MAC platforms is assured.
"Opticis continues to be amazed at how System Integrators and Custom Installers make our products work for customers." said Byeong-Ho Park, Opticis VP of Sales & Marketing. “I recently viewed a 30-inch Cinema HD panel that was located at a considerable distance from the host processor and was impressed with both the WQXGA visual experience and the immediate customer feedback of the benefits of extra pixel space at the remote location."
Opticis is exhibiting its USB, DVI, HDMI and FireWire optical extender product family, June 18 - 20 at InfoComm 2008, booth #N6813 in Las Vegas.
