AMETEK Land, the world leader in high accuracy, non-contact temperature measurement systems, is bringing its solutions for the steelmaking industry to the AISTech’s 2021 Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition this summer.
Among the high-quality products that will be introduced by AMETEK Land's expert team is the new MWIR-Borescope-640 thermal imaging camera. Designed for dirty fuels and application-specific furnace atmospheres, this extremely accurate radiometric infrared camera uses advanced spectral filtering as well as a high thermal and spatial resolution for continuous temperature measurement and furnace profiling applications.
With a clear view through smoke and furnace gases, the MWIR-B-640 allows precise, fully radiometric temperature measurement image data to be taken, stored, and trended over the lifetime of the furnace/boiler.
Alongside the new thermal imager, AMETEK Land will showcase a wide range of innovations. These include the Slag Detection System, which provides an accurate, timely detection of slag carryover during tapping and pouring of liquid steel, and the Auto Pour Pyrometer System, which measures the temperature of the liquid metal stream whilst pouring into moulds. Additionally, AMETEK Land will showcase its SPOT GS high-performance pyrometer, which continuously measures the temperature of coated steel strip during galvanising and galvannealing.
AMETEK Land has more than 70 years of experience in serving the steel industry, and delivers dedicated solutions for key applications, supporting higher quality, lower costs, and greater safety across the sector.
Visitors to the conference can also find out more about AMETEK Land's continued commitment to industrial decarbonisation, with products that help improve thermal efficiency, increase product quality, and control emissions.
AMETEK Land will be jointly exhibiting with sister company AMETEK Surface Vision at the event, allowing attendees to explore surface inspection systems for their steelmaking processes.
Peter Unwin, Global Industry Manager - Metals, from AMETEK Land, said: "After the disruption to last year's events calendar caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we're excited to have the chance to meet customers face-to-face at AISTech once again. It's a great opportunity to remind people about our existing, proven solutions for steelmaking processes, as well as introduce them to new, enhanced products like the MWIR-B-640."
This year’s AISTech Iron and Steel Technology Conference is being held at Nashville's Music City Center in the U.S. It takes place from June 29 to July 1, bringing together industry professionals from around the world. A virtual component is also offered for those who find travel remains difficult.
