LASER COMPONENTS will be launching a new series of events – its first Infrared Sessions – on December 1 and 2, 2020. LC Talks will address a worldwide audience in a virtual format. In addition to experts from research and industry, students and interested newcomers are also welcome. In individual sessions, topics related to the company’s core technologies will be discussed: laser optics, IR components, pulsed laser diodes, photodiodes, and fibre technology.
The two days planned for infrared sessions will be divided into a maximum of three one-hour lecture series. The introductory tutorial session covers individual fundamental topics in detail, while the presentations in the other sessions will deliberately focus on the most important content. Thus, one day of the event will last no longer than three hours. Even participants in “unfavourable” time zones will have the opportunity to follow all sessions live. In addition to the scientific-technical blocks, there will be a Young Forum where students and young engineers can present their work. There will also be regional sessions on a key market and scientific fun sessions. For everyone to follow the lectures, background information and further material will be provided in a tutorial library.
“Our WORKshop format with 80 participants has always had its justification but also its limitations. It cannot grow without changing its character, and it does not reflect the reality of the global economy,” explains Joe Kunsch, the initiator of the Infrared Sessions at LASER COMPONENTS. “The new concept starts right here. Only with a virtual event can we bring together several hundred participants with an up to 18-hour time difference. Of course, this requires precise planning, but we are happy to take on this challenge.”
