Inphi Corporation, a leading provider of high-speed connectivity solutions, introduces the IN4517SZ, a quad linear differential to single-ended Mach-Zehnder Modulator Driver in a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) package.
The new SMT quad linear driver extends the product portfolio of Inphi's dual- and single-carrier 45GBaud product family of linear driver and TIA devices for lower cost 200G/400G line card and 4X5, CFP, and CFP2 module applications. Inphi's 45GBaud Linear Coherent Product Family will be showcased March 22-24, 2016 at Inphi's OFC 2016 booth #3611, located at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.
With a 14x9mm small form factor SMT package, the IN4517SZ directly interfaces with high bandwidth Lithium Niobate or Indium Phosphide modulators. The new low power design, together with industry leading performance enables next-generation long haul and metro networks to address highly integrated line card designs and advanced pluggable modules.
"The networking market needed new lower power linear modulator drivers in smaller package footprints to address the high volume next-generation applications, and we are pleased today to announce the IN4517SZ as the answer to that need," said Dr. Loi Nguyen, founder, senior vice president, Optical Interconnect at Inphi. "The IN4517SZ expands the Inphi product portfolio to address the latest market demands for high-performance, long-haul and metro 200G/400G coherent systems."
Inphi's IN4517SN quad linear driver and 45GBaud linear TIA/VGA amplifier will be featured in NeoPhotonics' 45Gbaud 400Gbps DP-32QAM single carrier coherent live demonstration (by invitation only) in booth #3301. These ICs have the lowest size and power in their class, which is critical for 400Gbps coherent line card and module solutions.
"We are excited that Inphi's latest 45Gbaud quad TIA amplifier exhibits excellent performance when used in NeoPhotonics' 45 Gbaud Integrated Coherent Receiver. We are using this technology, along with our ultra-narrow line width tunable lasers and Inphi's IN4517SZ quad linear driver in our OFC demo to show single wavelength 400Gbps transmission using DP-32QAM," said Dr. Winston Way, CTO for System Architecture with NeoPhotonics. "We see strong market demand for a cost-effective data center interconnect solution for distances under 100km. Single-wavelength 400G coherent transmission can enable a cost structure that is highly competitive to direct-detection-based transceivers."
