China International Optoelectronic Exposition 2015 to Take Place in Shenzhen, China

The annual festival for the global optoelectronic professionals, the 17th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE 2015) will be held from 31 August through 3 September at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China.

The world's largest Optoelectronics Exhibition will host tens of thousands of visitors across greater China and from over 70 countries worldwide. CIOE 2015 is comprised of five concurrent expositions held across 110,000 sqm and hosts over 3,000 exhibitors in the fields of optical communication, laser & infrared applications, precision optics, lens & camera module, LEDs and smart cities.

Highlights to CIOE 2015

This year, the Lens & Camera Module Zone in the fast growing Precision Optics Expo with an exhibition area of 30,000 sqm, plays host to over 1,000 manufacturers showcasing the latest products in optical materials, optical components, lens, camera modules, as well as optical equipment.

In LED Tech China, one of the most important exhibitions of CIOE, the innovative Sapphire Material and Equipment Zone will gather many global manufacturers in the field of sapphire crystal growth, sapphire materials, sapphire processing and applications. Moreover, the concurrent 1st International Forum on Sapphire Market and Technology organized by CIOE and Yole développement debuts. This highly anticipated symposium has garnered the interest and participation of brands including Monocrystal, Rofin Lasag, 3M, OPI Corporation, Trumpf, Meyer Burger, GTAT, Silian Opto, Haotian Optoelectronics, Fuyuan Tech, Huawei, Lens Tech. and Aolong Group and many more.

The emerging star of CIOE 2015 is the China Smart City Innovation Industry Conference. By virtue of the Chinese government's vigorous promotion of smart manufacturing and smart livelihood, the China Smart City Innovation Industry Conference has grown rapidly within the last two years becoming an important platform to explore and educate smart city development and the charms and benefits of smart life technology. The exhibition of Smart City China will cover the applications of Cloud, Big Data and IoT in smart manufacturing, smart hardware, smart community, smart retirement, and 3D printing. Joining hands with many industry partners to hold various smart theme activities including the intelligent robot show and makers venture contest, this year's Smart City China marks a milestone within CIOE by demonstrating the applications of optoelectronics necessary and prevalent throughout smart city planning and development. Visitors will get a glimpse of what future cities will look like, how they operate, as well as meet directly with the suppliers helping to build these brave new worlds.

The continued recognition of CIOE as an international bridging platform is illustrated through CIOE 2015's international participation including pavilions from USA, Canada, Germany, Denmark, Japan, and Korea. This year, the Optoelectronics Global Conference (OGC 2015) will take place at CIOE 2015 and opens on 29 August with eight sessions. The OGC 2015 is hosted by the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Macau Society of Biomedical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, and CIOE. Professor David Payne, director of Britain University of Southampton Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) will deliver the keynote, Optical fibers: The next Generation. With the goal to foster interaction, learning, and discourse in optoelectronics, session topics include Fiber-Based Technologies and Applications, Infrared Technologies and Applications, Lightings and Displays, Optoelectronic Devices and Applications, Biophotonics, Optical Communications and Networks, and Precision Optics.
