Revolution Lighting Technologies, Inc. (“Revolution Lighting”), a global provider of advanced LED lighting solutions, announced today that RVLT’s all-plastic G3 LED tube lamps have been certified by NSF International (NSF) for installation in food-processing areas. In addition, the tube lamps have been evaluated to comply with the NSF supplemental requirements for marine food equipment.
NSF International, an independent global organization, writes standards and tests and certifies products to ensure they protect food, water, consumer products and the environment. To earn NSF certification, a lighting product must pass a battery of tests that meet stringent FDA and USDA requirements. The recent certification recognizes that RVLT’s 15-watt and 18-watt all-plastic G3 LED tube lamps comply with NSF/ANSI 2 and all applicable requirements and are authorized to bear the NSF mark.
“The NSF certification emphasizes RVLT’s commitment to expand our business into new markets while delivering high-quality, sustainable products,” said Charles J Schafer, president and chief financial officer, RVLT. “By meeting the highest standards in food safety, this certification allows us to expand our partnership with the world’s leading food and beverage companies.”
RVLT’s G3 LED tube lamps provide a quick and easy replacement within existing T-8 fixtures allowing for minimal downtime due to lighting changeover. They provide the same or improved lighting performance compared to existing fluorescent tubes with extra LED benefits, such as energy savings and extended life of the product.
The product, which is DLC-approved and UL Rated, has been available and used in commercial, education and other market applications for more than seven years. Earlier this year, RVLT’s [Generation] G3 LED tube lights successfully passed rigorous and thorough mechanical and electrical testing at Washington Laboratories, Limited (WLL). The Military Standards (MIL-STD) approval of RVLT’s G3 tube for use in military ground, vehicle, ship and aircraft applications, along with the most recent NSF International Food-Safety certification, provides the company with new market opportunities in excess of $2 billion.
