Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) announced today that its Universal Frequency Translator (UFT) clocking family was awarded the Elektra Award for best digital product of the year. Sponsored by Electronics Weekly, Elektra Award winners were selected by an independent panel of judges and announced at a ceremony in London.
Earlier this year, the UFT family of devices received an ACE Award by UBM Tech’s EE Times and EDN, as well as an EDN China Innovation Award. The clocking chips are geared for high-performance optical networks, wireless base stations and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) interface applications.
“We appreciate this award and the judges’ recognition of the value these timing devices bring to the electronics industry,” said Louise Gaulin, vice president and general manager of IDT’s Network Communications Division. “As the leader in silicon timing, IDT is committed to delivering products that enable engineers to build next-generation high-performance networks.”
IDT’s 8T49N28x UFT family is the industry’s first single-chip programmable solution capable of generating eight different output frequencies with less than 300 fs RMS phase jitter over the standard 12kHz to 20MHz integration range. The devices offer independently-programmable clocking outputs with the flexibility to apply virtually any input frequency and select virtually any output frequency. The high level of integration and low jitter eliminates the need for separate jitter attenuation, frequency translation, and redundancy management – empowering engineers to save cost and board area through consolidation.
