Eyelit Inc., a manufacturing software provider for visibility, control, and coordination of manufacturing operations for the aerospace & defense, discrete electronics, life science, medical device, semiconductor, and photovoltaic (solar) industries, announced today that BinOptics, an integrated optoelectronic components manufacturer, has selected the Eyelit MES suite for its fabrication facility in Ithaca, New York.
The fast implementation of Eyelit MES, Asset Management, Automated Data Services, and Reporting modules is nearing completion at the BinOptics facility in upstate New York. Key aspects of the selection included Eyelit’s experience in similar industries (including optoelectronics, semiconductor, and MEMS), cost of ownership, and ease of implementation.
“We saw Eyelit MES in use at other hi-tech manufacturers nearby and were impressed with the capabilities of the software suite and the capabilities of their customer service staff. We also have team members who have had a positive experience deploying the system prior to coming to BinOptics. We wanted an MES solution we could deploy quickly without a large IT staff or the need to contract a third party for implementation services,” stated William Fritz, Chief Operations Officer of BinOptics.
The dynamic nature of BinOptics manufacturing processes requires the infinite flexibility of Eyelit software for configuring conditional process flows and business rules, including the ability to bin components into multiple part numbers from a single parent wafer. The abilities to communicate with external data sources, incorporate automation, and enable scalability to support high transaction volumes provide the solid foundation as BinOptics ramps up their production. The implementation will also enable BinOptics to capture and consolidate information in the MES database for reporting, eliminating paper travelers and spreadsheets they had relied on to record data.
“The quality of Eyelit’s products, services, and support consistently enable outstanding and valuable customer references. This was a critical part of the sale to BinOptics as they have a very close working relationship with one of our customers,” stated Dan Estrada, Eyelit’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. “We appreciate this recognition that has facilitated our rapid growth in a wide variety of precision electronics manufacturing segments, and our new partnership with BinOptics.”
