Fujifilm Products Win Honors at 2014 EISA Awards

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) is delighted to announce that that its two products, FUJIFILM X-T1 and FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R have been crowned at the recent 2014 EISA (the European Imaging and Sound Association) awards.

Fujifilm X series cameras have consistently triumphed at the EISA awards for the last 3 years with the “FUJIFILM X100” in 2011, “FUJIFILM X-Pro1” in 2012, and “FUJIFILM X100S” in 2013.

1. European Advanced Compact System Camera of the Year 2014-2015 : The “FUJIFILM X-T1” Premium interchangeable lens camera

“The FUJIFILM X-T1 captures the spirit of 35mm SLR photography better than any other digital camera to date. Its retro styling, with its traditional array of dials and buttons, has wide-ranging appeal, but it's the camera's performance and image quality that make it an award-winner.
Its proven X-Trans CMOS II sensor delivers exceptional image quality even at high ISO settings. Its large, high-resolution electronic viewfinder is one of the best available, and the overall performance, from the speed of the focusing and shooting to its Wi-Fi functionality, is difficult to fault. All of this inside a light and compact yet rugged, weather-sealed magnesium alloy body makes for a deserving winner.”

2. European Compact System Lens of the Year 2014-2015 : The “FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R” X-Mount Interchangeable lens

“Ideally suited for portrait photography, the FUJINON 56mm F1.2 R is a large-aperture, short-telephoto lens that produces razor-sharp pictures even wide open, with creamy, beautiful-looking background blur. Thanks to two elements of ED (extra-low dispersion) glass, chromatic aberration is kept well under control and is practically never visible. This is a classic-looking, well-built lens that also offers a manual aperture ring to match the traditional dials on the retro-styled cameras in Fujifilm's X-range.”

Fujifilm will continue to work towards the development of excellent products and services that address user needs, thereby contributing to the further enhancement of photographic culture.

* EISA (the European Imaging and Sound Association) is the association of 50 special interest magazines from 20 European countries. In June each year, the editors-in-chief from all EISA member magazines meet to decide which of the products analysed in their publications during the past year deserve a coveted EISA Award. The six categories under consideration are: Audio, Home Theater, In-car Electronics, Mobile Electronics, Photography and Video.
