TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity, today announced that it has been named to the Broadband Communities’ FTTH (fiber to the home) Top 100 list for the third consecutive year. The list recognizes the Top 100 corporations around the world for their contributions to advancing the cause of fiber-based broadband.
"The companies in this year's Broadband Communities Top 100 List are making great strides in overcoming many of the obstacles that stand in the way of universal fiber deployments – cost reduction, pioneering new revenue-generating broadband services and new ways to manage multiple services," said Masha Zager, editor, Broadband Communities magazine. "We are pleased to recognize TE Connectivity as one of the companies that is showcasing the innovation and creativity needed to make a fiber-connected world a reality."
In selecting the FTTH Top 100, Broadband Communities’ editors looked for organizations that are playing a significant role in advancing the cause of fiber-based broadband. Organizations which deploy ambitious network solutions; supply key hardware, software or services to deployers; regularly introduce innovative technologies; and provide key conditions for fiber builds were all considered for the 2014 list.
“Today, the focus is no longer just on Internet connectivity, but instead has shifted to bringing together people, processes, data and things to make networked connections more relevant and valuable than ever before,” said Trevor Smith, vice president, global strategy and business development for TE Broadband Network Solutions. “Being included in Broadband Communities FTTH Top 100 List reaffirms our commitment to the innovation of electronic and fiber optic connections for the broadband industry.”
TE designs and manufactures products that make electronic and fiber connections in nearly every industry – from broadband communications to automotive, energy, industrial, consumer devices, healthcare, aerospace and defense. TE’s products include connectors, above- and below-ground enclosures, heat-shrink sleeves, cable accessories, surge arrestors, and fiber optic and copper cabling systems. Specifically, fiber optics solutions can be tailored to meet the needs of central offices, data centers, FTTx and optical LANs (fiber-to-the-desk networks).
