Photron, Inc., a global leader and manufacturer of high-speed cameras and image analysis software, introduces the FASTCAM Mini UX50, a powerful, yet rugged and lightweight high-speed camera.
The new, 1.3 megapixel (1,280 x 1,024 pixels) high-speed sensor operates at 2,000 frames per second (fps) at full resolution, 2,500 fps at 720 HD resolution, and up to 160,000 fps at reduced resolution. The system is designed for a wide variety of tasks, including biomechanics, life sciences, fluid dynamics, defense and aerospace research, material sciences, and on- and off-board high-speed imaging in automotive safety applications.
Similar to the more powerful Mini UX100, released in 2013, the new FASTCAM Mini UX50 single-body camera housing is also high-G and specially built for rugged, high shock, and vibration environments, making it ideal for automotive safety testing. Photron’s FASTCAM Mini UX50 is compact (120 mm x 120 mm x 90 mm) and lightweight (less than 1.5 Kg). It delivers superb light sensitivity to ISO 12232 Ssat standards: ISO 6,400 for monochrome and ISO 5,000 for color. Three memory options are available, 4GB, 8GB, or up to16 GB for extended recording durations and triggering flexibility. The new high-speed imaging systems’ high performance GigaBit Ethernet interface to PC makes it extremely easy and convenient to use.
