Zebra Imaging Enters Strategic Partnership with Reprographic Services Association

Zebra Imaging, Inc., the world's foremost provider of 3D holographic prints, announced today the creation of a strategic partnership with the Reprographic Services Association (RSA) to help serve the rapid expansion Zebra is experiencing with Architecture, Engineering and Construction Companies (AEC).

The RSA is a dynamic network of over 80 companies with more than 185 locations across North America. Member companies are dedicated to servicing the AEC industry with traditional and innovative product and services. The RSA gives Zebra an incredible expansion of points of presence across the U.S. market. It's a natural extension of the use of 3D imaging in architecture, engineering and construction, which industry experts expect client use of 3D imaging to increase by 50 percent by next year.

Mark Beilman, Executive Director, Reprographic Services Association, states, "The RSA is excited to partner with Zebra Imaging to bring this innovative technology to the AEC Industry. We see a myriad of applications that will aid the Design and Build process through the enhanced visualization that this product provides."

Zebra technology provides an effective solution to quickly and easily create full 3D holograms from the vast array of digital files. They can be created in a fraction of the time and cost of today's alternatives (physical models, 3D prototypes, solid terrain modeling) and are a strong complement to 2D blueprints.

Holograms are rendered from CAD models that clients already produce for 2D renderings and animated fly-throughs. They can also be created from a vast array of "capture" techniques, such as laser scanning or oblique photography. Whether in the early stages of investment approval, zoning approval or post-approval marketing, 3D visualization can give clients a real idea of what the structure would look like, presenting precise dimensions and finely rendered structural information.

A holographic image of an architectural building or design provides a three-dimensional view no glasses required. Where physical models of structures typically cost $10,000-$20,000 and can take three to four weeks to produce, Zebra's 2-square-foot full color 3D hologram costs $1299 and can be produced within a couple of hours. It's a natural step for visualizing design between a 3-D rendering and a physical model. Holograms are robust, easy to handle and transport. Updates and multiple copies can be easily produced and sent out to stakeholders at a single location or multiple locations and shipped anywhere in the world.

"Our clients regularly use Zebra's holograms to either bypass entirely the need to create a solid model, or as tool to augment their projects, using channeling and annotation to show features that can't be seen in any other way," said Chuck Scullion, President and CEO of Zebra Imaging. With holographic technology, it's possible to peel away different layers, to have different views, to see the interior. So there's a lot more value to having a holographic image than a solid model."
