The high power VTR6 LED traffic strobe light from Gardasoft is the latest addition to STEMMER IMAGING’s illumination portfolio.
It delivers up to 4.5kW pulses making it ideally suited to a number of traffic applications such as ANPR (automatic number plate recognition), red light violation, open road tolling, speed enforcement and weight-in motion systems with increased illumination distances.
Suitable for use with a variety of traffic cameras, and available with white light and a choice of IR wavelengths, the VTR6 is housed within a single IP66 rating enclosure and features internal timing, intensity control, trigger input with long distance communication and control capabilities provided using Ethernet or RS232 connectivity. It has the option to be operated in a free running mode from a programmable internal timer. A trigger input can be used to synchronise the lighting pulse with the exposure of a camera. Full intensity and pulse width control are available through the trigger input and remote communications port. There is an internal interlock to prevent the lighting being triggered too fast.
For applications using analogue cameras without a trigger function, the VTR6 lights can be synchronised to strobe at the video frame rate. Utilising the PAL or NTSC video feed, the VTR6 light synchronises with the video offering enhanced illumination for image acquisition.
For mobile applications that are installed ‘in vehicle’ or by the roadside and running from a battery or renewable energy source, the VTR6 lights can be driven from an optional 12V DC source. Under these conditions, the lights still offer the same high intensity output and brightness levels even though the input voltage is lower. Additional options include a mounting bracket that allows ±30° or radial movement for pan & tilt adjustment and a sunshield for situations where a high degree of ambient sunlight could cause excess heat problems.
