Building upon its successful USB 3 uEye CP camera line, IDS Imaging has introduced its newest family member: the UI-3370CP-NIR, a near infrared (NIR) version featuring a powerful CMOSIS 4.2MP sensor that substantially boosts sensitivity in the near infrared range when compared to traditional monochrome NIR models.
Offering frame rates up to 75 fps at full resolution, the new camera is the fastest NIR model on the market today with the CMOSIS sensor.
"Our newest NIR camera is a perfect fit for light and speed critical applications in inspection, traffic surveillance, biomedicine, or astronomy," said Daniel Seiler, Chief Operating Officer for IDS. "Defect control in solar wafer inspection, for example, benefits from its large square 2k x 2k pixels, 1 inch sensor area, to help identify blemishes not easily observed in the visible spectrum."
The camera's fast global shutter allows distortion-free capture of fast moving vehicles while customers in microscopy will appreciate its high sensitivity. Also, a line scan feature with scan rates of up to 8 kHz makes this versatile camera equally well suited for high-speed web inspection tasks.
Like all USB 3 uEye CP cameras from IDS, the UI-3370CP-NIR is extremely compact, measuring a mere 29 x 29 x 29 mm, and has an integrated power supply for installation in space-sensitive environments. Other features contributing to its success include QE wavelenght between 800 and 900 nm, and trigger, flash, GPIO and RS232 connectivity.
