Entropic Exhibits Systems-Level Silicon Solutions at ICTC 2013

This week at the 2013 International Coverage and Transmission Conference (ICTC) in Hangzhou, China, Entropic, a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, will showcase its systems-level silicon solutions focused on advancing the Pay-TV entertainment experience in China.

At ICTC 2013, the Company will showcase its platform silicon solutions in action, including:

  • Broadband Access. Entropic reliably brings digital entertainment into the home with its c.LINK® Broadband Access solutions, which distribute content to the point of entry over a common coaxial cable. At ICTC, the Company will demonstrate the highest performance (800Mbps), most scalable, cost-effective EoC solution to meet the industry's extensive broadband requirements. Entropic will also highlight how MSOs are integrating c.LINK into advanced set-top boxes to provide exceptional connectivity performance for video applications and in-home interactivity.
  • MoCA Home Networking. Entropic invented the MoCA home networking technology which enables the distribution of high-quality high-definition (HD) content throughout the home. At ICTC, the Company will show the value that MoCA-based solutions bring to the China market to enable more HD services and to extend wireless home coverage.
  • Set-top Box System-on-a-Chip (SoC) Solutions. Entropic's high processing, low power SoC platform is ideal for the Chinese market. At ICTC, the Company will highlight the innovative video processing and scaling capabilities of its silicon, and discuss how MSOs can deploy advanced IPTV services by leveraging the capabilities of its SoC platform.

Entropic will also present the need for new Ethernet-over-Coax (EoC) Broadband Access solutions and the rising interest for MoCA® (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) home network technologies to enable the most reliable home distribution backbone over a home's existing coaxial cabling. Tom Luan, Entropic's vice president, China Operations will present on these two leading technologies on:

  • Date: October 24, 2013
  • Time: 3:10pm – 3:30pm
  • Location: 3rd floor, Conference Hall B

"ICTC is an important event for Entropic, as it gives us a platform to showcase next-generation technologies that are required to meet China's NGB – Next Generation Broadcasting – initiative," said Luan. "Our EoC Broadband Access technology coupled with our MoCA home networking and advanced set-top box solutions give MSOs in China a systems-level approach to deliver higher quality, IP-based entertainment."
