IEEE Photonics Society Announces Call For Papers, Special Symposia Topics for the 2013 IEEE Photonics Conference (formerly LEOS Annual Meeting)
The IEEE Photonics Conference 2013 (IPC-2013), previously known as the IEEE LEOS Annual Meeting, has announced a Call for Papers seeking innovative, original research in the areas listed below. The conference is scheduled for 8 - 12 September, 2013 in the Seattle, WA area, at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue Hotel in Bellevue (Eastside Seattle).
The premier autumn gathering for photonics scientists and engineers, the 2013 IEEE Photonics Conference covers the areas of lasers, optoelectronics, optical fiber networks and associated lightwave technologies, as well as other photonics applications. More than 500 technical papers will be presented, along with compelling plenary talks on the industry’s most important issues, special symposia, weekend events geared toward students and other young photonics professionals, and a manufacturer’s exhibition.
Photonics conference attendees are involved with technologies and applications where quantum electronic devices involving light are key elements, including biophotonics, displays, photodetectors, sensors, imaging systems, integrated optics, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, interconnects, microwave and nanophotonic devices and systems, non-linear and ultrafast optics, optical fiber communications, planar waveguide technology, optoelectronic materials, and all types of lasers.
The paper submission deadline is 26 April, 2013 and authors will be notified by early June of the status of their paper. The complete Call for Papers can be found at http://www.ipc-ieee.org/call-for-papers. Please visit http://www.ipc-ieee.org/topics for a full list of topics.
Special Symposia
In addition to the regular program, several special symposia are scheduled during the conference, including:
- Optical Data Storage – New developments in next generation nano-scale optical technologies focused on holographic, multi-dimensional and hybrid recording.
- “The Internet of Things” – The potential contributions of photonics technologies to the monitoring and control of the 100 billion wireless devices projected by the year 2020.
