The LEDLB-8E-IR LED Light Bar from Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com is a powerful yet compact infrared LED light that offers operators in covert applications an excellent alternative to bulky and outdated HID units. Featuring a compact size, rugged construction, and multi-voltage 9 to 46 VDC compatibility, these infrared LED lights are ideal for law enforcement and military personnel as well as game wardens and border patrol officers who need a powerful illuminator for augmenting night vision capabilities.
The LEDLB-8E-IR infrared LED light bar from Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com is an extremely durable and powerful alternative to the bulky and oftentimes fragile high intensity discharge IR illuminators currently used by most operators in covert operations. Combining high infrared light output with extreme durability, this IP68 rated IR LED light bar is waterproof to three meters and produces a powerful infrared light beam capable of illuminating objects at extended distances effectively. Unlike older style HID infrared illuminators which require a bulky cut off lens to produce infrared light, this LED unit produces IR light naturally. This means the unit is more compact, weighs less, produces less heat, and does not require the additional hardware associated with an added IR lens. In standard configuration this infrared LEDLB-8E-IR infrared LED light bar produces its output in the 850nm end of the IR spectrum, which is suitable for use with most common forms of night vision equipment. Optional 940nm versions provide a higher wavelength infrared that is ideal for the newer night vision systems commonly used by the military and law enforcement. These light bars operate with direct current and can utilize voltages ranging from 9 to 48VDC without the need for a transformer, making them ideal for use with vehicles, boats and off-road vehicles that commonly provide 12 or 24 volt DC power. The housings are constructed of extruded aluminum, and an unbreakable polycarbonate lens gives these light bars unparalleled durability and the strength to withstand rugged use that would destroy typical HID lamps. These infrared illuminators are also IP68 rated waterproof, making them impervious to the effects of water and even extended periods of submersion. A simple sliding aluminum block with rubber bushing mounting systems provides easy installation onto vehicles as well as added protection against vibrations and impacts. The LEDs in these units are controlled by advanced built in drivers than allow operators to simply connect the unit directly to a vehicles' electrical system or attach a controller to provide dimming or strobing operation if desired. These lights have a 50,000 hour operational life and are an ideal infrared solution for operators looking to improve the effectiveness of their night vision equipment with an auxiliary illuminator that will run cooler and last longer than bulky and obsolete HID illuminators.
"The LEDLB-8E-IR infrared LED light replaces old covert implementations of halogen and HID lights with specially made cut off filters," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com. "This reduces cost, weight and consumables for operators like state game wardens that use infrared lighting on a nightly basis."
