Luminus Devices has recently declared that its big chip, white light LEDs are now capable of delivering 120 LPW (lumens per watt) efficacy.
The high efficacies were tested at standard test conditions as per the Department of Energy (DOE)’s specifications. The 120 LPW efficacy signifies the median of Luminus’ production distribution, thereby joins Luminus with the DOE specifications for unprecedented efficacy.
The President and CEO of Luminus, Keith T.S. Ward said that the test lab’s recent NVLAP accreditation of LM-80 standard represents the company’s dynamic dedication and consistent service towards its customers. Precise performance data on Luminus LEDs have been presented to the customers. This revolutionary technology of Luminus is an outstanding achievement, complementing the other technologies of Luminus. The innovative high-efficacy LEDs, when marketed will gain wide acceptance due to their high brightness packages in Big Chip industry.
According to the Global Director of Product Marketing at Luminus, Chuck DeMilo, regarding white light LEDs, high efficacy is one among the many significant features they possess. Through Luminus Big Chip LED technology, customers are provided with a brilliant and powerful source of light. This high-efficacy light source enables users to achieve highest center beam candle power and accurate optical control in the lighting industry. Furthermore, it supports applications such as outdoor area lighting, retail display spot, and high bay.
Luminus is now participating at Light + Building, at Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Germany, where it will continue to exhibit till April 20 2012.
