Cree has declared the launch of the XSP Series LED street light, an advanced innovation in street lighting. This versatile, cost-efficient Cree LED street light has been designed to expedite payback to municipalities.
With 3x longer durability than traditional high-pressure sodium street lighting, this new XSP Series consumes almost 50% less energy, showing twofold increase in lumens per dollar when compared to its predecessors. As this new XSP Series conserve money and resources, it is the ideal lighting choice in municipalities and cities.
Optical efficiency has been enhanced by 15% through innovative engineering, outsmarting the formerly used Cree LED street lights; the number of LEDs used has also been reduced by more than half, providing an excellent application performance. With just fewer LEDs, rapid payback and lower luminaire costs can be achieved. NanoOptic Precision Delivery Grid optic technology generates brilliant street light lighting, promoting a cleaner and safer environment.
The new XSP Series has been designed using Cree’s advanced LED technology that produces superior system efficiency of up to 100 LM/W and capable of providing long L70 lifetime of over 100,000 h. This innovative street light doubles the lumens per dollar for municipalities, eliminating the need for a crew and truck for replacing a bulb.
The Cree XSP Series LED Street Light will be available by May 2012. It will be marketed through Cree lighting sales channels, offering high-quality LED street lights with unprecedented value.
