Resonetics declares the development of RESOlution line of DUV laser ablation systems of 193 nm for LA-ICP-MS analytical instruments. The novel series include a 6X larger two-volume sample cell, the S-155 by Laurin Technic Michael Shelley, with 155x105 mm working area.
The S-155 upgrades two-volume sampling technology with 38 mm headroom. The condensation of the window’s ablated material has been reduced that facilitates increased sensitivity and low element fractionation. Simplified detachment of windows for cleaning reduced the time taken for sample washout.
A variety of sample holders with top-surface sample referencing are available. It includes the combination or individually qty 12-13 mm standards, qty 15-26mm samples and qty 3-165-mm-long slots for 28-30 mm microscope slides. Fixing, variable, irregular samples like speleothems or corals are facilitated by a universal holder with sample area of 155x105 and depth 31 mm, provided with the clamping kit.
The S-155 cell combines with GeoStar sample-navigation software and vision hardware and serves as an improvement to installed standard RESOlution instruments.
