Directing analyst for optical at Infonetics Research, Andrew Schmitt, says that at the end of 2011, Infinera reported that a revenue increase motivates it to the leading position in North America and third position globally for integrated terrestrial ROADM equipment and long-haul WDM transport.
The market share results of Infinera in the third quarter for North America were encouraged by wholesale carriers, cable companies, Internet Content operators, and Tier 1 customers. The company's third quarter globally was supported by European wholesale carriers and openings in the submarine space.
Infinera CEO, Tom Fallon says that the ease, scale, and efficiency of Infinera's optical network solution benefits Global network operators, which facilitates the company to cater to the needs of customers while framing the future network growth. Infinera's collection includes Infinera ATN, a scalable metro WDM transport platform, Infinera's DTN platform supported by photonic integrated circuits (PICs), and the latest DTN-X platform with 500 Gb/s FlexCoherent super-channels.
