MTS is excited to declare its successful launch of its fibre optic network (FiON), in Dauphin and introduces its award winning MTS Ultimate TV service in the community, which presents Manitobans with one of the distinguished television services in Canada, offering over 55 HD channels and the complete home PVR service that can record TV programs and play it again on any connected TV in the house and also has several creative features.
FiON delivers an increased quantity of bandwidth directly to the residences of MTS customers, thereby supporting the high-speed Internet and current telephone services, while establishing the foundation for offering new services like MTS Ultimate TV.
MTS had an eventful celebration in Dauphin at the MTS Connect store. The chief administrative officers of Dauphin, Mayor Eric Irwin and Brad Collett attended the party along with Kelvin Shepherd, President of MTS in order to highlight FiON’s advantages to the community and its residents.
As part of the entertainment, a Dauphin resident received two tickets to visualize the Winnipeg Jets compete with the Montréal Canadiens at the MTS Centre, on December 22, 2011. MTS Ultimate TV is now available at several areas in Brandon, Winnipeg, Portage La Prairie and Selkirk. Over 2,270 residences signifying almost 60% of Dauphin, have already been identified by FiON and are entitled for fibre connection and MTS's Ultimate TV service.
