Quantel's R&D team are always working hard to improve their pulsed Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers, and have recently announced improvements to the specifications of their YG980 Nd:YAG laser.
The YG980 Nd:YAG laser is already well-established and is widely used in scientific and industrial R&D applications including spectroscopy, LIDAR, LIF, PIV and dye laser/OPO pumping. It is available in several different configurations, either oscillator only or oscillator plus one or more amplifiers, depending on the users' energy and repetition rate requirements.
The improved specifications include higher energy outputs for the highest energy system, the YG982E-10 and higher energy and better polarisation ratio for the mid-range YG981E-30 30Hz repetition rate system, summarised below:
