iC-Haus, a German provider of customized ASiC semiconductor solutions and application-specific iCs for automotive, industrial , and medical technology, has introduced iC-HG, a new 3 A laser/LED switch.
The switch is spike-free and has six independent channels, each of 0.5 A. They can be combined freely according to the requirement.
The iC-HG laser/LED switch can drive six LEDs or laser diodes. It is an integrated single device with a width of 5 mm in a QFN package. When switched in parallel they can supply 3x 1 A and for RGB applications they can supply in pairs. For current of up to a maximum of 3 A, the six channels can be arranged in parallel. Separate control voltage inputs can be used to select the current settings for each channel.
The iC-HG can also be utilized with blue laser diodes, when used with a maximum 12 V supply voltage. In order to reduce the EMI, the rise as well as fall times, can be decreased in LVDS and TTL drive modes. When an overtemperature occurs the switching outputs shut down. When errors occur, the error messages - “overtemperature”, “undervoltage”, and “configuration input not connected”, are obtained as an output for error messages.
The company has registered its LED and laser drivers, LEDs, and laser diodes for the CHIPS4LIGHT campaign. iC-Haus has announced availability of the iC-HG EVAL HG1D evaluation module.
