ISee3D Upgrades Single Lens 3D Technology

ISee3D, a provider of single lens 3D technology, has introduced a modified lens solution that decreases 3D size and provides higher frame rates to be utilised in several practical applications including automotive, consumer, industrial, and for medical equipments.

The enhanced novel technology decreases the thickness of the materials effectively to fractions of 1 mm, so that the technology can be utilised with a wider range of lenses and the space needed is also decreased. ISee3D technology is perfect for developing equipments where utilisation of space is minimal, and performance is a crucial factor with 3D features. The applications include improved magnifications microscopes, webcams, 4K and 5K cameras, endoscopes, and consumer camcorders. In the endoscopic applications, the capability to record 3D images via a compact equipment assists in minimally invasive surgeries. An innovative ISee3D invention in this field will permit a 3D endoscope to provide equivalent or more light when compared to an identically-sized 2D endoscope.

ISee3D possesses patented technologies to concurrently record stereoscopic pairs of images onto a single image sensor from a single lens. This improves the scope of existing speed of interpretation, ensuring both quicker and slower frame rates, where slower frame rate finds application in research and medical fields, and quicker frame rate is suitable for recording slow and fast moving scenes.

Its medical applications include endoscopic applications and less invasive surgeries such as those done by surgical robots. Its consumer applications include webcams, camcorders, mobiles, etc. Its industrial applications include automotive driver support systems like braking assistance, adaptive cruise control, air bag deployment, blind spot monitoring, etc. and other applications include under water exploration, robotics, and oil and gas exploration. Its broadcast applications include natural, real time 3D transmission and compact 3D cameras for utilisation in restricted spaces.
