Sony launches two new models of digital binoculars that have the capability to record in AVCHD 2.0 format ensuring easy image viewing and recording.
DEV 3 and DEV 5 models are suitable for viewing birds and nature, as they can record complete HD videos along with stereo sound and can also have an additional three-dimensional recording mode with playback facility.
It is possible to use variable zoom on the digital binoculars, enabling low magnification before aiming at a particular object. Operating the digital zoom facility of DEV-5 at a magnifying setting over 10x, increases the enlarging capacity from 0.9x to 20x with a reduced image quality. The DEV-3 model is suitable for capturing sports events, wild animals and architectural images with a magnification of 10x. The digital binoculars features an autofocus, enabling sharp and comfortable focus.
The electronic autofocus facility in DEV-3 and DEV-5 models help focus objects at ½ in. distance in two-dimensions and 32 in. away in three dimensions.
Distinct images are obtained for right and left eye, by a pair of precision G lens optics along with BIONZ processors and “Exmor R” CMOS sensors. The digital binoculars incorporate electronic view finding feature providing natural, comfortable, impressive and detailed view of the picture.
The DEV-3 and the DEV-5 digital binoculars characterise steady-shot stabilization features. This feature is to obtain clear images at higher magnification. The binoculars can be connected to HD televisions including Sony Bravia HDTV and transfer images to PC via USB connection.
The digital binoculars have an ergonomic grip area for stable operation, top-mounted controls for operating with gloves, and dual buttons for instant recording.
DEV-5 binocular incorporates GPS receiver for tagging images.
Both the digital binoculars incorporate rechargeable batteries, charger, and a connecting cable for PC.
