MTI Instruments Launches New Series of Laser Triangulation Scanners

MTI Instruments, a pioneer in accurate metrology solutions, based in Albany, New York, has introduced a new line of laser triangulation scanners called Microtrak PRO-2D, which offers ultra speed profile, dimensional and displacement data in real time.

Microtrak PRO-2D

The Microtrak PRO-2D is resistant to stray light, color and surface texture and is suitable for complicated quality and production control applications in numerous industries, including glue dispersion, welding and challenging motion and robotic control applications.

The new laser triangulation scanners feature uniquely designed laser head electronics to provide protection against high vibration and shock. Moreover, customers can expand the measurement capabilities of the system and conduct three-dimensional analysis by utilizing multiple heads. The triangulation principle is employed by the laser scanners to produce target surfaces’ two-dimensional height profile.

Peng Lim, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer at MTI Instruments, a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology, stated that the technology advancements in production, quality and process control lead to more critical metrology applications, which can only be resolved through non-contact two-dimensional and three-dimensional technologies. The company believes that its Microtrak PRO-2D laser triangulation scanners meet most of these application needs.

Lim further said that the new laser scanner line is part of the company’s strategy of offering technically advanced products that resolve major challenges of its customers and allow the company to enter into new applications.
