The Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH) will demonstrate the themes of green photonic technologies at the LASER fair to be conducted from 23 to 25 May 2011 in Munich.
The range of themes will deal with eco-friendly utilization of light, which includes use of laser technology for renewable power generation, lightweight construction, as replacement to hazardous procedures and for developing new energy-saving laser systems
The LZH laser technology can be utilized to process carbon fiber reinforced plastics for lightweight construction applications in the automobile and aeronautical industries, thereby significantly reducing the use of expensive raw materials and fuel. The technology can also be used to double the gas-metal welding speed, resulting in energy saving in the production processes.
The LZH laser technology can replace cover-up foils, sandblasting or chemical engraving, resulting in reduced pollution. The technology can be utilized for enhancing the energy efficacy of photovoltaic cells or for glass tube welding for superior quality solar receivers, or for reducing costs associated with the production of warm water solar collectors.
The LZH will demonstrate new fiber parts that can be employed in energy-saving fiber laser solutions for medical technology or material processing such as a fiber laser-based ultra-short laser oscillator used in curing presbyopia. The company, which manufactures superior quality optical designs and coatings, will present its laser optic coating methods at the fair.
