EMCORE Introduces 10 Gb-s Optical Transport Cards for Opengear Platform

Supplier of semiconductor-based systems, subsystems and parts for the solar power and fiber optics markets, EMCORE has introduced new 10 Gb/s optical transport cards for applications in openGear platform.

The 10 G platform and technology from EMCORE is an advanced ultra bandwidth fiber optic video transport solution for professional and broadcast video/audio markets.

EMCORE has introduced the new products in order to fulfill the increasing demand for ultra-speed video distribution technology for the film and TV broadcasting industries. The advancement in fiber technology is important to improve the current infrastructure and to meet the increasing bandwidth requirements.

By using an advanced daisy-chain technology, EMCORE’s openGear card portfolio endorses a modular design at a bandwidth of 10 Gb/s and enables remote feature updates. The OPG L-band IFLs transmitters/receivers, OPG 16-channel embedder/de-embedder transmitters/receivers, OPG DVI transmitters/receivers and OPG 3G HD dual link transmitters/receivers are some of the improved products from EMCORE.

According to Henok Tafese, who works as Director of Business Development at EMCORE's Fiber Optic Video business unit, the company introduced ultra-speed fiber optic systems using its ultra-speed design experience for the rapidly expanding professional and broadcast audio/video industry.
