KVH Industries has received an order, worth $2.7 million, from an international defense contractor. As per the order, KVH will deliver its DSP-3100 fiber optic gyros over the next few months to support optical and weapon stabilization in isolated weapon stations.
The affordable fiber optic equipment has a compact and rugged design, which can benefit system integrators and end users.
The Vice President of OEM/FOG sales, Jay Napoli stated that the DSP-3100 provides a variety of output options to the customers. In addition to the Digital Signal Processing electronics design, it offers superior bias stability, high bandwidth, turn-on to turn-on repeatability and scale factor linearity.
The low-noise systems can tolerate the shock of high-speed, repetitive gunfire and are well-suited for defense-related stabilization, autonomous vehicle, navigation, precision guidance and commercial applications.
