Molex, an interconnect solutions provider covering various market segments, has launched its Quick Mate Duplex (QMD) LC Optical Connector to provide a highly reliable means of mating the LC connector to the Small Form-factor Pluggable transceiver.
With a simple push-pull arrangement, the ruggedized connector can be connected directly to Small Form-factor Pluggable transceivers.
Molex has collaborated with Radiall to present the QMD solution to its clients, thereby enabling both companies to offer products with high levels of interoperability. The licensing agreement signed between the two companies brings a ruggedized connector with improved performance efficiency than the previous versions offered by Molex.
The Molex QMD solution is available as a connector kit, which can be installed on current on-site assembly or customized cable assembly. The QMD is offered as part of a factory assembled unit.
The QMD solution is easy to install and maintain as the process of mating with the internal LC duplex connector is simple. The connector also offers certain unique features such as a flexible and scoop-proof design, and lightweight and high-impact resistant thermoplastic housing that are essential for field installation.
