LED lighting specialist, Cree proclaimed that it has introduced its XLamp XM-L LEDs in warm white and neutral color temperature range for the commercial market. The XM-L LEDs offers high performance over for a broad range of drive currents.
At a drive current of 700 mA, the neutral white XM-L LEDs with a color temperature of 4000 K offer a luminous efficacy range from 128 to 260 lm/W, while the warm white XM-L LEDs with a color temperature of 3000 K offer a luminous efficacy range from 108 to 220 lm/W. At 350 mA, the XM-L neutral white LEDs offer a luminous efficacy range between 138 and 134 lm/W, while the warm white XM-L LEDs offer a luminous efficacy range from 117 to 113 lm/W. The luminous efficacy range for XM-L neutral white LEDs at a drive current of 3 A is between 84 and 850 lm/W.
The XM-L LEDs are accommodated in a small housing and have a compact size of optical source to provide high luminous efficacy. The high lumen-density of the XM-L LEDs makes lighting producers to minimize costs and simplify the lighting design.
The LEDs’ ultra luminous efficacy makes it suitable for directional illumination uses, including spot, track, roadway, parking, high bay and LED replacement lamps. The LEDs allow lighting manufacturers to manipulate the light output conveniently and to position the light at the appropriate place to reduce light trespass and wastage.
