JA Solar to Build Solar Cell Production Plant in Hefei, China

Producer of solar cells and power products, JA Solar declared that it has signed a strategic cooperation deal with the government of Hefei City to build a solar cell production facility in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province in East China.

The company will produce solar cells with a total power capacity of 3 GW at the integrated production plant.

Under the terms of the agreement, about $2.05 billion will be invested for the construction of the solar cell plant. Once completed, the facility will have an output of $4.56 billion per year and its production capacity will exceed the current total production capacity of JA Solar.

The Chief Executive Officer at JA Solar, Fang Peng stated that Hefei would remain the center of the company’s growth plans for the coming three years.
