Pioneer in LED lighting solutions, Cree has declared that its XLamp ML-B LED is now available in the commercial market.
The XLamp ML-B LED, which consumes only one-fourth of the power for operation, is designed for distributed lighting purposes such as LED-based fluorescent tube substitutes and panel lights where the illumination source is seen. The XLamp ML-B LEDs are now available in both production and sample volumes.
The ML-B LEDs have an operating life of 50,000 h and offer durability, thermal resistance and luminous efficiency equivalent to that of ENERGY STAR requirements. The LED offers up to 30 lm of luminous flux at 80 mA in cool white color temperature of 5000 K and 24 lm of luminous flux in warm white color temperature of 3000 K. The size and housing of the ML-B LED are same as the XLamp ML-E LED. It offers a 120„a viewing angle and even color over angle similar to the ML-E.
According to the Director of Marketing at Cree, Paul Thieken, the ML-B LED offers the correct mix of efficiency, size, lumen output and worth for direct-view lighting.
