Utilities and Municipalities Purchase PowerSecure’s Energy-Efficient LED-Based Street Lights

PowerSecure International announced that its new range of LED-based street lights is being adopted by numerous municipalities and utilities.

The company’s SecureLite street light has been adopted by more than 30 municipalities and electric utilities and offers them an energy-efficient alternative to conventional 100 W HID lighting solutions.

Securelite reduces energy usage by 67%, when compared to a conventional traditional High Pressure Sodium area light. It also offers enhanced reliability and increases the lighting life by three times. These features enable utilities and municipalities to cut down the maintenance costs. SecureLite, incorporating the dusk-to-dawn control technology, also delivers an improved light quality that decreases light pollution and improves visibility.

PowerSecure also announced that it has rolled out two LED-based street lights that act as replacements for 400 and 250 W HID street lighting solutions. The PowerLites solutions offer municipalities and utilities a combination of maintenance, environmental and efficiency benefits for high-wattage applications.
