Teem Photonics Launches 355-nm Ultraviolet Laser for Eye Surgery

Teem Photonics announced that it has introduced a new ultraviolet laser that allows users to change the repetition rate, peak power, and pulse energy.

The PicoFlash 355-nm ultraviolet laser is based on master oscillator fiber amplifier (MOFA) architecture and is ideal for utilization in eye surgery.

The laser unit generates 6 µJ/pulse and delivers high speed and high throughput. It has a pulse width of 750 ps and a maximum repetition frequency of 150 kHz. The device can also be utilized for transparent materials processing and for efficient plasma generation.

Teem Photonics’ PicoSpark laser module generates pulses at maximum repetition rates of 40 kHz. The device comes in 532 nm and 1064 nm and is housed in a turnkey package. It also needs only 350 W from a wall plug.

The company also provides the µFab3D microfabrication machine, which is adaptable to numerous systems. The microfabrication device delivers a lateral resolution of 200 nm with a 532 nm microchip laser source to develop micro-objects in proteins and polymers. Teem Photonics stated that the device utilizes picosecond pulses that are ideal for two-photon polymerization.
