Philips Lumileds Releases Surface Mount LEDs for Automotive Signaling Applications

Philips Lumileds announced that it has launched a new mid-power LED solution that is ideal for automotive signaling applications.

SignalSure LED

The SignalSure surface mount LED underwent a meticulous Multi Environment Overstress Testing (MEOST) system, which surpassed the testing required for automotive signaling LED sources. The SignalSure LED solution comes in amber and red-orange colors as per automotive specifications.

The SignalSure LEDs, as part of the MEOST test, were exposed to high levels of sulphur gas, humidity, and extreme heat. Philips Lumileds generates high voltage alternator failure and high voltage jump start to ensure that the LEDs deliver enhanced operation without degrading the light output, quality, and performance. The SignalSure LEDs meet SAE/ECE requirements and are AEC-Q101 Qualified.

Philips Lumileds anticipates SignalSure LEDs to be used for various applications such as motorcycle, rear fog, mirror turn, tail, side-marker, and center stop signaling. The company’s Senior Director, Paul Martin stated that the SignalSure LEDs offer enhanced SMD with a diverse design margin for signaling applications.
