Sensornet Introduces FireLaser System for Fire Hazard Detection Applications

Provider of sophisticated monitoring solutions, Sensornet has introduced a FireLaser heat detection system for fire hazard detection applications.

The FireLaser detection system can be linked to an optical fiber system and can identify the distance and temperature data at various points. The fiber-optic cable is deployed within the system and acts as a temperature sensor.

The device is capable of identifying a hotspot on the cable at a distance of 4 km. It can accurately survey the development of hotspots and provides a cost-efficient fire detection solution. The sensitive fiber-optic cable is ideal for hazardous conditions and can identify temperature changes of less than 1 ºC within seconds.

Sensornet’s VP of Industrial Monitoring, Jerry Worsley stated that the technology used in the detection system is reliable and embedded within the device. He added that the unit is ideal for using in distributed architectures.
