Extron Electronics has expanded its fiber-optic product portfolio with the introduction of a new series of fiber-optic cabling products such as cable, termination equipment, connectors and test devices.
The new cabling system joins Extron's current series of distribution amplifiers, matrix switchers and extenders for video/audio and control signaling.
Factory-terminated cable assemblies and bend-insensitive, plenum-rated fiber-optic cables in variety of lengths are available in OM4 single-mode and multimode versions.
According to a representative from Extron, the LC connectors and the Fiber Optic Termination Kit offer dependable and quick termination in the field, The representative further said that in order to assure system-wide durability, the FPM 101 fiber-optic power meter should be used in combination with either the FLS 1310 fiber optic light source for single-mode equipment or the FLS 850 fiber-optic light source for multimode cabling to assess optical power and loss across the fiber-optic infrastructure.
Extron's latest fiber-optic products can tackle common issues that occur in audio-video environments. According to the company, its bend-insensitive fiber-optic cable is the first product to be used in the audio-video market. The plenum-rated, duplex cables offer pixel-precise transmission of audio/video signals in intra-building settings. They are available in numerous lengths or as 2 km bulk reels.
The Quicktermination tools, LC connectors and test devices can be deployed easily and ensure maximum performance across the whole fiber infrastructure according to the company.
