Leica Microsystems, a company specializing in scientific instruments and microscopes, has entered into an agreement with Digital Surf, provider of analysis and software.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Leica Map surface imaging and metrology software that incorporates Digital Surf’s Mountains Technology will be utilized with the Leica Application Suite (LAS) for using in Leica industrial microscopes.
The Leica Map software quantifies and visualizes the characteristics of measured surfaces. In addition, it creates visual surface metrology reports to offer traceability and distinguishes geometry and surface texture. Furthermore, the software comes with three levels featuring optical module for sophisticated applications.
The Leica Map DCM 3D software is designed for use with the Leica dual core 3D microscope Leica DCM 3D system that integrates interferometry and confocal technology for high-resolution, quick and non-invasive analysis of nano and micro structures. The Leica Map Start software is utilized in combination with the LAS Montage. In addition, the Leica Map DCM 3D consists of ISO 16610 filtering methods for basic functional analysis, separating surface waviness and roughness, and can extract and examine sub-surfaces independently.
