Superior Essex Introduces Optical Fiber Plenum Cables for Indoor and Outdoor Applications

Superior Essex, a major producer and supplier of copper cable and optical fiber products, has introduced new Optical Fiber Nonconductive Plenum (OFNP) cables called the Dry Blocked/Sunlight Resistant/Outdoor/Indoor Tight Buffer Cables. The W4 Series cable core comprises 12, 8 or 6 fibers.

Optical Fiber Nonconductive Plenum Cable

The W4 Series cable comes in TeraFlex Bend Resistant optical fiber types, comprising both 50m multimode and single mode optical fibers. The cable line is developed to endure adverse environmental and deployment conditions. It has a patented thermoplastic jacket that makes it resistant to chemicals, sunlight, oils and mechanical abrasion.

The OFNP cable complies with ANSI/ICEA S-104-696 specifications. Thus, it can withstand all operational temperature and tensile loading needs for outdoor and indoor applications. Its plenum rating enables the cable to be used in both plenum and riser spaces.
