Cree Demonstrates Bright and Energy-Efficient LED-Based A-Lamp

Cree, LED lighting company, has demonstrated an efficient, bright LED-based A-lamp that fulfils the ENERGY STAR performance norms for a 60 W LED replacement lamp.

Cree's 60 W standard LED replacement bulb

The lamp delivered an improved performance with Cree remote phosphor technology and Cree TrueWhite technology.

The Cree prototype bulb produces 2700 K warm incandescent color with a minimum of 90 CRI. The dimmable lamp consumes less than 10 W and offers over 800 lm of output. In addition, the lamp has been applied for third party testing to check the performance, lumen maintenance and light distribution.

Cree’s CEO and Chairman, Chuck Swoboda stated that the new Cree lamp is an important development for the lighting industry. He added that the LED A-lamp is the first lamp to integrate a compact form factor with increased efficiency.
