Developer of research OCT technology, Thorlabs has launched a new swept source Optical Coherence Tomography (SS-OCT) imaging solution that utilizes a tunable filter technology with an effective laser cavity design to attain a diverse wavelength tuning range at more than 120 nm.
SS-OCT Imaging System
An enhanced coherence length of 6 mm is sustained during the swept laser source’s high-speed tuning. The swept source laser supports improved OCT imaging depths in samples when compared to Thorlabs’16 kHz SS-OCT imaging solution.
The SS-OCT solution measures the time delay and magnitude of the reflected light using interferometric techniques. The sample’s depth profiles are constructed using interferometric signals. Volumetric and cross sectional images are generated by collecting adjacent A-scans. The OCT’s noninvasive nature makes it ideal for imaging samples such as highly scattering materials and biological tissues.
Thorlabs’ OCT is ideal for imaging applications such as quality control, ophthalmology, vascular imaging, developmental biology, skin imaging, and small animal imaging.
