GAO Instruments, developer of fiber-optic measurement devices, announced that it has rolled out a new optical power meter to meet the testing requirements of CATV testing and fiber-optic network maintenance.
The A0670006 optical power meter, along with the 08221 handheld light source, provides a portable testing pair for field work in fiber-optic networks.
The optical power meter provides numerous measurement ranges for different requirements. The measurement ranges include -30dBm to 30dBm, -40dBm to 20dBm, -50dBm to 10dBm and -60dBm to 3dBm at a precision of +/-5%. The wavelength of the A0670006 optical power meter ranges from 800 and 1650 nm with calibrated wavelengths at 1550, 1310, 980 and 850 nm. An interchangeable ST, SC and FC optical connectors and a 2.5 mm adaptor are also available.
The energy-efficient optical power meter features low battery warning and functions continuously for a maximum of 360 h. It provides a swift response and does not need warm-up. The device can withstand water and dust and is ideal for field testing applications.
