Developer of optical solutions, REO has introduced a new series of linearly variable edge and bandpass filters that are ideal for temperature sensing and spectrometry applications.
In the variable response coatings, the center wavelength alters with position over the surface part in a linear manner. The company has devised a unique volume scalable technology that allows cost-efficient manufacturing of linearly variable filters.
REO currently provides bandpass filters in the mid-infrared near infrared and visible spectral ranges. The nominal bandwidth of the filters is 1%, with ±0.5% linearity and 60% peak transmission. The filters are delivered on a diverse range of substrate materials that includes fused silica and optical glass.
Long wave pass and short wave pass filters are available over the same substrate sizes and spectral range. The filters are fabricated by utilizing ion beam sputtering (IBS) technology to decrease absorption and scatter. The IBS technology is used to make the coating response completely insensitive to humidity and temperature fluctuations.
