Evolution Solar, a solar energy company, proclaimed that it has imported photovoltaic panels in large quantity from a China-based company, Konca Solar Cell. According to Evolution Solar, the 230 W solar panels were the first products to be brought into the US market.
Konca Solar produces polycrystalline wafer panels and has now shifted its concentration to produce solar-grade wafers. Every year, the company is producing 300 MW of wafers. It operates a plant in the Jiangsu State that delivers solar wafers to panel producers located in the state.
Konca Solar’s solar panels have been shipped to Jacksonville, Florida, from where the products will be supplied to commercial and residential solar projects across the country. Evolution Solar expects a robust market for Konca Solar panels in 2011.
DC Energy report predicts that new solar panel deployment throughout North America will increase two-fold to more than 2 GW of capacity in 2011.
Evolution Solar is involved in the commercialization of unconventional solar energy technologies and associated photovoltaic technologies, devices and next-generation equipments.
