OSA to Showcasse LaserFest Video in Times Square

Optical Society of America (OSA) will exhibit a video montage based on laser technology for visitors in Times Square at LaserFest from 1 December 2010 to 1 January 2011. LaserFest is the 50th anniversary celebration of the science community respecting the invention of the laser.

Video clips from Lasers: Transforming Life, the LaserFest video produced by OSA, will be shown on the CBS Super Screen during the event. The full video discusses the use of lasers in current technologies including the laser surgery and the Internet. In addition, the video focuses on the laser research that might aid in solving mysteries like black holes or in developing clean energy sources for the future.

In addition to the video, the CBS Super Screen will show viewers the websites of the OSA Foundation and LaserFest. Over 1.5 million visitors are expected to attend the event at the 42nd street in Times Square.
