FiberLight Introduces $20 Million Fiber-Optic Network in Baltimore, USA

FiberLight, provider of fiber-optic network services, has rolled out a new 104-mile fiber optic network in Baltimore. The network, valued at $20 million, will enhance the company’s 299 mile DC and Virginia networks, and the 123-mile Baltimore network by expanding the underground optical backbone.

The network expansion will enable the fiber-optic backbone network to link to the cities of Greenbelt, Elkridge, Columbia, and Laurel. It will also offer enhanced versatility to the Virginia/DC/Maryland region.

The President of FiberLight, Kevin Coyne stated that the network expansion would enable the company to offer enhanced economic opportunity for businesses and citizens in the Greater Baltimore area. The enhanced fiber count of the company would allow the company to provide safe connectivity to Virginia, Washington and decrease the overall broadband solutions cost.
