Advanced Photonix, a company specializing in optoelectronic products, announced that a major OEM telecom systems provider has chosen Picometrix to deliver the CR-100A, a 100 Gb/s optical receiver, for long haul communications. The commitment between both the companies is estimated to be over $5.3 million. Picometrix is a subsidiary of Advanced Photonix.
The telecom system provider has also renewed the commitment to procure Advanced Photonix’ 40 Gb/s design valued at $1.7M that will be delivered in 2011. In total, the system provider will spend a total of $7 million in 2011.
Picometrix offers a complete range of 40 and 100 Gb/s HSOR solutions for line-side and client-side modulation formats such as DP-BPSK, DP-QPSK, ODB, DQPSK, DPSK, RZ and NRZ.
The CR-100A 100 Gb/s optical receiver uses high-speed linear amplifiers and Picometrix’ photodiode arrays to offer high-quality performance. It supports maximum data rates of 128 Gb/s and is available in a CCRx Multisource Agreement (MSA) form factor. The optical receiver functions over the expanded L and C band wavelengths and can be configured without or with a polarization beam splitter.
