ES Technology, supplier of Universal Laser Systems, announced that it has unveiled the PLS6MW multi-wavelength laser platform. The PLS6MW laser platform has a fiber laser that is used for direct metal marking purposes. The fiber laser can also be interchanged with a CO2 laser device for processing materials such as plastic and wood.
The PLS6MW platform is built on Universal Laser’s Rapid Reconfiguration technology that offers customers the potential to interchange the laser sources without requiring realignment. It has a processing area of 813 x 457 mm. It also supports a 30 W fiber laser source.
The fiber laser source is suitable for marking various metals such as carbide, aluminum, brass, copper, titanium, and stainless steel. It is also useful for marking various types of plastic such as ABS and Delrin. The CO2 laser source is suitable for cutting and engraving materials such as fabric, anodized aluminum, glass, acrylic, and wood. The CO2 lasers come in a 9.3-micron wavelength for PET marking applications.
